I’m loving mine, personally. I bought and tested Google Wifi, Plume, Eero (gen 1), Linksys Velop, and Netgears Orbi. I’m torn between the Orbi and the TP-Link Deco M5. Roaming and speed with which my Hue bulbs respond to the switches are super fast. Our other IOT devices respond very quick as well. These have been noticeably quicker than the Orbi, with the exception of max speeds at distance, in which the Orbi wins. Close to the main router, max speeds have been as good as any of the other products except the Plume (which was the slowest with regards to max throughput; 100mbps vs 350mbps).

However, the Orbi’s have issues with roaming (have to turn wifi on and off on my iphone to restore internet to it), and they randomly drop my Nest cameras as well. While the TP-Link Deco M5 lack many advanced features, they have been very amazing performers, and at this price in my opinion leave much of the competition in the dust. I have preordered the second generation of Eero Pro mesh routers and am excited to test them out. The added radio should place it on par with the Velop but likely still slower than the Orbi at longer ranges as it uses a dedicated 5Ghz backhaul between the satellites and main router (technically not a “mesh” network, but still very good). Just wish the firmware and phone app were improved.

The Eero and Google Wifi apps have been the most polished, but Deco isn’t too far behind, and the added virus protection, and parental controls are a nice added value for families, even if not super important to me personally. Hope this helps some people. Clearly I’m still trying to find the “best” product, but bang for buck, Deco has been great. Easily performed as well as the Eero and Google Wifi if not better when it comes to roaming. It is also an AC1300 device rather than AC1200 in the Google Wifi and Eero (gen 1).
